Shul Bulletin: February 2018
Notice:   We will be switching to the “Winter” Schedule for Standard Time.  Mincha Prayers on Shabbat will take place after the Kiddush at 12:30 PM,  and Maariv approx. 10 minutes after Shabbat ends.
  • Everyone is cordially invited to attend the Grand Kiddush on Shabbat Yitro - February 3rd! This Kiddush is sponsored by Bernice and Norman Colten, commemorating the Yahrzeit of  Norman’s beloved mother, OBM.
  • A new Children’s Program is starting up this month for kids ages 5-13!! It is a baking and cooking session, “Mini Chefs”, with Jewish and holiday themes to be held in the home of Rabbi Moshe and Chaiky Carlebach. The sessions will take place the last Monday of the month, starting this February 26th, from 4 to 5pm. The Mini Chefs’ get a real baking experience, and then take home their wonderful edible creations!  For more info please call, 732-433-0888
  • PURIM: Wednesday, February 28th - Thursday, March 1st! We will begin with Megillah reading on Wednesday at 6:15pm at Shul. Thursday morning, Purim Services in shul start at 8:00am followed by Megillah Reading at 8:30am. There will be a second Megillah Reading at home of Rabbi Yosef Carlebach at 10:30 am.
  • Join our Shul Family for a Fantastic “Purim at the Stadium” Festival on Thursday, 3/1 at 4:30pm
    This Fun Festival will feature: A Multi-Media Megillah Reading, Full Stadium Dinner (Hot Dogs, Burgers, French Fries, Popcorn & More), a  L’Chaim Bar for Adults,  Sports Themed Crafts, Music by DJ Dan, and more! The Main Show will feature the Dance Stylez Breakdancers! This Purim will be an unforgettable event for the entire family! Couvert is $15/Adult,  $10/Child, and Sponsor/$180. Reserve the Date for The 39th Anniversary of Chabad House at Rutgers as it celebrates its National Founders Dinner on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 6:00pm. ALL are invited! Special Pricing for Shul Members! This gala event will take place at Grand Ballroom, Chabad House, 170 College Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901. The Guests of Honor include our own Ruth Hyman, Rutgers alumnus Yair Kliman, and Israeli Ambassador Danny Dayan.  Invitations to Follow.
And to all the wonderful Shul People who give of themselves, their time, their money, and their good will, please note that all work for the communal good is noticed and counted. Whether you attend Shul every week, month, or whether you come to a class, buy the bagels, visit someone in need, or even volunteer to water our flowers, all of the above make our Shul and Shul Family so special!  

Construction has begun on the Shul Lower Level restrooms, and Kitchens. Come see for yourself how our Shul is expanding!  As the Shul moves forward, we invite every member to consider a gift to out current building.  You can dedicate items in perpetuity for yourself or for a loved family member.  Perhaps consider a Yahrzeit Plaque ($500.00), or a Lifetime Seat Dedication ($5000).  As the Shul expands, we must purchase additional Machzorim for the High Holidays.  Each Machzor can be dedicated for a gift of $40. If you are interested in any type of honorial or memorial to a loved one, and wish to discuss this confidentially with the Rabbi, please call Rabbi Yosef Carlebach at 732-433-5800.

We have installed an “:Annual Shabbat Kiddush” Calendar.  We welcome any family or individual who wishes to be a sponsor of a Shabbat Kiddush, to be placed in the Annual Kiddush Calendar. Call 732-433-0800, Thank You!
